Earlier this year, we recognized Bloomfield Public Schools as one of the most improved school district in the state of Connecticut since 2011. In this letter, the chairman of the district’s board of education, Donald Harris, expounds upon the reasons for Bloomfield’s sustained growth. He cites a strong superintendent and a clear delineation of responsibilities between the board of education and the superintendent. In Bloomfield, the board of education supervises the superintendent, and the superintendent manages the school district.
