“I work at the Connecticut Council for Education Reform because when I was in college, the injustice and inequality in America’s public school system became apparent to me. As a graduate of a Connecticut public high school, I realized that if I had grown up just one town over, in New London, CT, instead of Mystic, CT, I would have received a very different K-12 education that would have seriously impacted my ability to gain admission to and succeed at a competitive liberal arts college. I believe that reforming education is the only way to lift communities out of poverty and cultivate the well-educated citizenry that is the backbone of our democracy. As a nation, we have a moral imperative to ensure that every child receives an outstanding education. I work at CCER because I want to help build a future of opportunity for all children.”
